WINNIE THE POOCH (Raced As Calling the Wind) 9-2-92 ~ 9-18-99
This sweet, gentle, and loving retired racing Greyhound, Winnie the Pooch, was adopted on July 9, 1995 by Elaine Gower, Kansas City, Missouri, from The Woodlands Pups Without Partners Adoption Center, and he lived out his retirement with happy, sunny, lazy couch-potato days in his Forever Home.
TIGGER (Racing name unknown) 8-7-93 ~ 8/14/08
Tigger, a trained racing Greyhound who never raced because she didn’t grow up big like the other Greyhound boys and girls, weighing in at only 45 lbs., was adopted by Elaine Gower, Kansas City, Missouri, on July 17, 1995 from Retired Greyhounds as Pets (REGAP) of Kansas City, and lived until the age of 15. That's very old for a Greyhound. Silly bouncy Tigger (bouncin’ is what Tiggers do best) was happy and a greyt girlfriend in her FOREVER HOME ~ but in old age she had a little less bounce per ounce!
BRADLEY (Raced as Odd Brad) 4-4-95 ~ 12-13-03
The retired racing Greyhound, Bradley, was adopted by Elaine Gower, Kansas City, Missouri, on October 30, 1999 from The Woodlands Pups Without Partners Adoption Center. He was the largest Greyhound I have ever seen ~ longer than a coffee table and weighing in at 96 lbs. This big-as-a-horse, gentle-giant Greyhound was a very spoiled Mama’s Boy, loved his squeaky toys, went no where without his special ruggedy ol’ Bear-Bear, and enjoyed sleeping upside down in his Forever Home.
C.C. (Raced as Flying Cement) 1-13-2000 ~ 11/17/2007
Flying Cement ~ you’d change my name, too (Thanks, Mom)! This "Cool Child" ~ a loving, sweet, and playful retired racing Greyhound, was adopted by Elaine Gower, Kansas City, Missouri, on March 20, 2004, from Rescued Racers of St. Louis, Missouri. Until nearly age 8, C.C. was the light of my life and he enjoyed his retirement as a greyt big Mama’s Boy, begging for cookies, playing with squeaky bears and his adopted sister, little Tigger, and lazy, fun-filled days at his Forever Home.
MR. WILSON (Raced as Written Stone) born 2-23-2004
The retired racing Greyhound, Wilson, was adopted by Elaine Gower, Kansas City, Missouri, on February 2, 2008 from The Woodlands Pups Without Partners Adoption Center. This sweet boy Greyhound is a very special, spoiled Mama’s Boy, loves his squeaky bear toys, enjoys sleeping upside down in his Mama's Sleep-Number Bed, and loves his lazy days in his new Forever Home.
